Canaletto (1697 - 1768) | |
|
Canaletto's glorious panoramas, for example,
"The Bucintoro Preparing to Leave the Molo on Ascension Day" are
inspirational in themselves.
Canaletto Investigation As a limitation suggest landscapes are created between large expanses of water and sky - that a flat surface (e.g. paper) is divided into thirds - the top third sky, the bottom, water and only the middle third, or more interestingly, less, is landscape. Using buildings in the local environment and after studying water and sky and various ways in which these can be renedered, create a composite, contemporary Canaletto. Cpllage would also make an interesting medium for this investigation. |
